Matcha is a powdered green tea from plants called Tencha or "shade tea". The special feature of this tea is that it is covered for 2 to 3 weeks before harvesting. The plant compensates for the lack of sunlight by accumulating chlorophyll and amino acids. This process gives it an inimitable taste and exceptional nutritional qualities.

This matcha originates from the village of Wazuka, near Kyoto, Japan.

Certified organic by Ecocert. Pretium quality, the young shoots are harvested by hand in spring.

Matcha tea plants are covered 2 to 3 weeks before harvesting to encourage the production of chlorophyll and amino acids in the leaves. During harvesting, only the young shoots are picked by hand, then steamed to stop oxidation. Finally, they are gently dried and ground.
