Milbemax Chew is a veterinary medicine in chewable tablet form. It is a broad-spectrum dewormer suitable for dogs weighing 5 kg or more.
The active ingredients in one tablet are Milbemycin oxime 12.50 mg and Praziquantel 125.00 mg. Its excipients are Propylene glycol (E1520) 4.54 mg, Brown iron oxide (E172) 3.29 mg, Butylated hydroxyanisole (E320) 1.32 mg and Propyl gallate (E310) 0.46 mg.
Milbemax Chew is indicated for the treatment of mixed infestations of nematodes and cestodes (adult stages) sensitive to praziquantel and milbemycin oxime. These include Dipylidium caninum, Taenia spp. and Echinococcus spp.

Specific References

It depends on the animal's weight. The minimum recommended dosage is 0.5 mg milbemycin oxime and 5 mg praziquantel per kg bodyweight, taken orally in a single dose.
Milbemax Chew is administered after or during meals. From 5 to 25 kg, give 1 tablet, from 25 to 50 kg 2 tablets and from 50 to 75 kg 3 tablets.
Angiostrongylus vasorum: administer 4 times, one week apart. If there is concomitant treatment against cestodes, treat once with Milbemax Chew and once with a product containing only milbemycin oxime, for the remaining 3 weeks of treatment. In endemic areas, angiostrongylosis can be prevented by administration every 4 weeks.
Thelazia callipaeda: 2 doses, one week apart. Milbemax Chew can replace a monovalent product based on milbemycin oxime alone in the event of concomitant treatment against cestodes.

It is advisable to treat all household pets at the same time.
Dosage must be strictly followed for Colley dogs and related breeds.

Treatment of dogs with circulating microfilariae is not recommended due to the hypersensitivity reactions that can occur (pale mucous membranes, tremors, vomiting, shortness of breath, excessive salivation).
