Do you have a bunion on your foot? Even if the deformity is not very pronounced, putting on shoes can quickly become painful. Conflict with the shoe creates pain on the bony outgrowth and horn due to excessive pressure and friction . An interface must therefore be placed between the shoe and the "bunion" to distribute loads and relieve pain . This is the role played by Epithelium 26® silicone gel in EPITACT® hallux valgus protection. A 1 mm pellet of this gel placed on the bunion soothes pain.

If you are diabetic, opt instead for hallux valgus adhesive pads.

Specific References

Avoid wearing them barefoot, preferring sock protectors or insoles.
If you wear them every day and wash them, you'll keep your pads for several months. But remember to change them at least once a year.
