UV rays generate a large number of free radicals that accelerate skin aging. Solgar Beta Carotene is made from an extract of Dunaliella Salina, an ocean algae with a high content of carotenoids such as beta-carotene and alpha-carotene, which effectively fight free radicals induced by the sun's rays. Beta-Carotene also has the property of reflecting a portion of UV rays, preventing them from generating free radicals in the skin.
