Pistachio essential oil has an intense, herbaceous fragrance.
Found in scrublands and garrigues, particularly in Morocco, Corsica and Algeria, this shrub can grow up to 3 meters tall, but it takes ten or fifteen years after planting for it to be economically profitable. Its Latin name "lentus" ("viscous") comes from its gum.
