The shiitake selected by Nutrixeal is grown on organic sorghum. It is typically harvested after 6 to 8 weeks of cultivation, at an early stage of development (young mushrooms, much richer in active ingredients). The full spectrum of mushroom components is harvested: mycelium, primordium, fruiting bodies and extracellular components. The extract obtained, using a solvent-freecontains all the shiitake's active ingredients.
Low-temperature drying is preferred (over several hours), but the temperatures used vary according to the biochemical components specific to each strain, and fine-tuning the temperature is an essential area of expertise in order to optimize both the active ingredient content and the perfect digestibility of the final product. To achieve this, our production partner draws on many years' experience in the cultivation and extraction of medicinal mushrooms.
