Until the beginning of the last century, the almond tree was a strong symbol of the Provencal landscape. In the 1960s, almond cultivation was abandoned to make way for more profitable crops, and the almond disappeared from the region.

Since 2000, L'OCCITANE has been sourcing almonds from Jean-Pierre Jaubert.

With the support of L'OCCITANE, Jean-Pierre has planted over 16,000 almond trees in Valensole, Provence.
