Gemmotherapy is a natural therapy that uses the properties of growing plant embryonic tissues: the buds and young shoots of trees and shrubs. It can be defined as a global cellular energy therapy.

The bud, made up of embryonic tissue, contains all the concentrated vital energy and active principles required for the development of the tree in the making. The bud alone contains all the properties of flowers, fruit and leaves, which explains why bud extracts are so effective. In a way, the bud is the plant's concentrated "totum".
