Specific References

Use one section of thread per interdental space.
Take about 45 cm of thread and wrap it around the middle fingers, leaving a few centimetres in the center.
Tension the thread by pinching it between your thumbs and forefingers.
Gently slide the taut wire between the teeth, up to the gum line.
Then, holding the wire against the tooth, make a vertical movement from gum to tooth.

While "conventional" brushing cleans the visible surfaces of the teeth, it does not reach the interdental spaces. That's why dentists recommend flossing as a complement to brushing.
Flossing allows you to reach even the narrowest interdental spaces, removing not only plaque, responsible for cavities and gum problems, but also food residues.
