Bayer Drontal XL For Dogs 2 Tablets is a dewormer for dogs that fights roundworms and tapeworms too. Effective against roundworms, tapeworms, hookworms and whipworms, Drontal®Chien and Drontal®Chien XL bone-shaped dog tablets contain three active ingredients whose combined action kills intestinal parasites. These worms develop in the dog's intestine and can cause a variety of disorders, including digestive, pulmonary and nervous problems, a dull "holey" coat, coughing, impaired growth and itching in the anal region. To preserve the dog's health and well-being, these parasites must be eliminated.
Drontal Dog XL is suitable for dogs from 17.5 kg. It acts against the following nematodes (roundworms) and cestodes (tapeworms):
Roundworms :

Ascarids (mature and immature adults) : Toxocara canis, Taxascaris leonina
Hookworms (adults) : Uncinaria stenocephala, Ancylostama caninum
Whipworms (adults) : Trichuris vulpis

Flatworms (mature and immature adults) : Echinococcus granulosus, Echinococcus multilocularis, Dipylidium caninum, Taenia spp

It owes its effectiveness to its three active ingredients: pyrantel, praziquantel and febantel.

Specific References

For treatment of dogs, 1 tablet per 35kg of body weight (15mg febantel, 5mg pyrantel (14.4mg pyrantel embonate) and 5mg praziquantel per kg), i.e. :

52.5 - 70 kg	2 tablets

Administer an additional half-tablet for every additional 17.5 kg.

Method of administration and duration of treatment:

Tablets are flavored and studies have shown them to be palatable with voluntary intake by the majority of animals tested (88%). Tablets can be administered with or without food. Access to food need not be restricted before or after treatment. Tablets should be given as a single dose. Unused tablet halves should either be discarded immediately or returned to the blister pack until next use. Do not use on dogs under 7kg.

Do not use in the event of hypersensitivity to any of the active ingredients or excipients.
Do not administer to pregnant bitches during the first and second thirds of gestation.
