Drontal Cat is a medical device for your small domestic felines, and is used to treat ailments caused by parasites sensitive to pyrantel and praziquantel. More precisely, it's a dewormer that eradicates the presence of worms colonizing your pets' intestines. Contamination is not always easy to detect, and can be dangerous for those around you, especially if you have young children. There are several types of worm that can affect cats and, by extension, their environment.
In polyparasitic cats, the intestinal infestations that can be treated with Drontal are represented by two major families of organisms:

the following adult gastrointestinal nematodes (roundworms): Toxocara cati, Ancylostoma tubaeforme, Ancylostoma braziliense.
the following gastrointestinal flatworms: Dipylidium caninum, Hydatigena (Taenia) taeniaeformis, Joyeuxiella pasqualei, Mesocestoides spp, Echinococcus multilocularis.

Since cestode infestation in cats occurs at the earliest after the 3rd week of life, treatment is only indicated from the third week of life. Drontal Chat has an inhibitory and biocidal action on tapeworms and roundworms in the animal's intestine. It thus prevents parasite proliferation and ensures their elimination.

20 mg pyrantel (57.5 mg as embonate) and 5 mg praziquantel per kg, i.e. 1 tablet per 4 kg in a single dose, according to the following table:

Administer tablets directly into the mouth or mix with food. No dietary measures required. When young cats are infested with roundworms, given the entero-pneumo-enteral cycle and the risk of transmission of parasites to humans, treatment should be repeated at 2-week intervals until the cat is 3 months old, using a drug active against nematodes.
If echinococcosis is diagnosed, a specific strategy of treatment, controls and personal protection must be undertaken. It is therefore advisable to consult specialized veterinary surgeons or parasitological institutes.
Use during pregnancy, lactation: In the absence of information, do not administer during gestation.
Overdose: Symptoms of overdose only appear at doses 5 times higher than the recommended dose. The first symptom of intoxication is vomiting.

1 tablet per 4 kg in a single oral dose.
