Drinkable solution for paediatric use,

Use with caution in cases of swallowing disorders, cardiorespiratory instability or other major digestive pathology requiring fasting. Algopedol oral solution should always be administered under adult supervision. Any opened unit dose must be used within 8 hours of opening.

For newborns and infants up to 4 months: Algopédol, combined with suction, helps manage the pain associated with unpleasant or uncomfortable care: taking blood, measuring blood sugar levels, vaccinations, removing dressings, adhesives, uncomfortable X-rays, certain toilets and weighing.

Place the solution on the front of the tongue 2 minutes before the treatment. Immediately start suckling and maintain suction for the duration of the treatment.

Administration may be repeated 4 times per 24 h for premature babies, and 6 to 8 times per 24 h for newborns. If necessary, the unit-dose can be recapped immediately after use, and remains usable for 8 h.
