Fleas on the dog are killed within a day of treatment. A single treatment prevents re-infestation by fleas for 4 weeks. The product can be integrated into a therapeutic program for Flea Allergy Dermatitis (FAD) when diagnosed by a veterinarian.
The product has acaricidal efficacy on ticks persisting for 4 weeks (Rhipicephalus sanguineus and Ixodes ricinus) and 3 weeks (Dermacentor reticulatus), and repellent efficacy on Ixodes ricinus persisting for 3 weeks.
Ticks already present on the dog at the time of treatment may not be killed during the two days following treatment, and may remain attached and visible. It is therefore advisable to remove any ticks present at the time of treatment, to prevent them attaching to the dog and taking a blood meal.
A single treatment provides repellent (anti-gorging) activity against the Phlebotomus perniciosus sandfly for three weeks, and against the Aedes aegypti mosquito from 7 days to 14 days after treatment.
Reduced risk of Leishmania infantum infection transmitted by sandflies (Phlebotomus perniciosus) for up to 3 weeks. The effect is indirect due to the product's activity on the vector.
