Albustix 50 Test Strips enable home detection of protein in urine. Normally, no protein is detectable in urine by conventional methods, although a minimum amount is excreted by a healthy kidney.
Collect urine in a clean, dry container. Soak the strip and remove it immediately. Read results after 60 seconds.
A negative result does not exclude the presence of proteins other than albumin. False positives can be obtained with strongly alkaline urine. On the other hand, disinfectants (quaternary ammonium or other detergents) or chlorhexidine-based skin cleansers can also cause false positives.
